This is one of the more modern items in our collection as it doesn't date from Chandy's original lifetime, but was produced by Lledo  Vanguards in 1998 as part of their 1950s-1960s classic commerical vehicles series. It's a 1:43 scale model of an Austin A40 van in Chandy livery featuring an impressive attention to detail. (Vanguards models were, and are, obviously aimed at the adult collector rather than the toy market.) The signage reads "Chandy, The Original and Genuine, Phone IMP 2271'2". IMP was short for Imperial, the London telephone exchange serving Chislehurst and Bickley in the 1960s in the days before all-figure dialling.
