Especially during the 1960s Chandy was promoted as being the safe drink for drivers, which is true to the extent that we think you'd have to drink quite a lot of it to put you over the drink-drive limit. (See here)

 

This cardboard self-standing car display follows the drink for drivers theme and was what all self-respecting Chandy lions needed to get themselves mobile in the 1960s!

 

The display was supplied with the leaflet pictured below left explaining to the publican or other Chandy retailer that the car should be displayed with "a Chandy Lion figurine behind the wheel and a bottle of Chandy on the platform".

 

Below right we've followed the leaflet's instructions to the letter, using one of our Chandy lions and our Chandy bottle.
